Helicopter Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
An aircraft flying above a popular southern California shoreline abruptly began spiraling out of control, finally dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Recordings shared online capture the chopper starting to spin above the shoreline then plunging near the perimeter of the shore, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a steps close to the coastal road.
First Aid Update
Local firefighters said five people were rushed to the hospital comprising two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were hurt. Details on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
